Along with individual fellowships, the MSCA help develop training networks, promote staff exchanges and fund mobility programmes with an international flavour.

Individual Fellowships (IF) /

The goal of the Individual Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of experienced researchers, wishing to diversify their individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility. 

There are two types of Individual Fellowships:

  • European Fellowships
  • Global Fellowships

Research Networks - Innovative Training Networks (ITN)/

Innovative Training Networks (ITN) drive scientific excellence and innovation. They bring together universities, research institutes and other sectors from across the world to train researchers to doctorate level. There are three types of Research networks:

  • European Training Networks;
  • European Industrial Doctorates; and
  • European Joint Doctorates.

Staff exchanges - Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE)/

Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) funds short-term exchanges of personnel between academic, industrial and commercial organisations throughout the world.

It helps people develop their knowledge, skills and careers, while building links between organisations working in different sectors of the economy, including universities, research institutes and SMEs.
